One of the big advantages to this is going to be that it is made of aluminum, which is weather resistant. And compared to a carrier of a similar size, this is going to be a lot more lightweight. So, if you wanted to hang this on your wall in the garage when you're not in use, there'd be no issue being able to hang that. Although our rack is made out of aluminum, there are just a few points on it where these thin little pieces are that I would not really use for securing down tie down points. more

Curt 17x46 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier on a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This carrier is gonna be a great way to free up extra space in your vehicle for more passengers, pets, or more gear. Couple things I prefer about a hitch mounted cargo carrier vs a roof mounted one, is you can have more space for your kayaks or anything like that, fishing poles. It is an inch and a quarter, it also comes with an adapter to fit your two inch hitches. On the inch and a quarter, your weight capacity is gonna be 300 pounds and on the 200, or on the two inch hitch, it's gonna be 500 pounds. Just make sure you don't exceed the capacity of your hitch, your vehicle, or the cargo basket. more

Now, it's made of aluminum and it's lightweight, so you may think that you're not going to have good capacity.But, this actually has a 500 pound capacity, which is just as high as most of the other steel options that we have, but it's going to save a ton of weight whenever we don't have to use this, and we're tryingq to put it back up in the garage. It has a 60 by 22 outer dimension, but I'm going to give you some dimensions on the inside for the usable space. That's going to measure at 20.5 by 58, just a little over 58. more

It's 24 by 60, and I can give you quick measurements there on what this is going to do on the capacity on the internal dimensions, which, in my opinion, is the most important, and that is going to be . It was right at 60.So this is going to give us that true 60 by 24, not the outer dimensions. The inside ones are going to be five and a half, so that gives us really good capacity there. 500 pounds is what we can carry on this safely. more

Today on your 2015 Subaru Outback, we're going to be taking a look at etrailer.com's folding and tilting cargo carrier. With a 500 pound carrying capacity, you can easily load this thing up and take almost all the gear that you would have in your vehicle, put it here at the back and free up room for more passengers. We're able to clear out all the gear from our Outback and place it back here due to its 24 x 60 inch inner dimensions that we have to stack up our here. Our gear is kept in place with the railing that goes all the way around the outside that is six and a half inches tall, so it'll keep in those larger boxes or items you may have here from sliding around and then you can strap all of your cargo down once you've got it loaded up with the various attachment points that we have located all around the edge of our cargo carrier.The mesh bottom keeps our cargo in place from falling through and it's also great for your smaller cargo. Keeps that from falling through, but what it does let through is dirt and debris. So, after you've hauled your cargo to your destination, sometimes you have to go through some off trail roads, gravel roads, and there might be some dirt and debris on here, unload it and just take a hose, it sprays right off and all the dirt and debris just falls through the mesh. more

Hi there Subaru owners. Today in your 2015 Subaru Outback, we're going to be taking a look at CURT's Folding Cargo Carrier. The cargo carrier has a maximum carrying capacity of 500 pounds. With this much weight, you could easily take most of the gear that you'd have in your vehicle, place it here back on the cargo carrier, freeing up space for more passengers.It's able to handle all this cargo with its inner dimensions of about 23 inches by 60 inches. On the bottom of our cargo carrier, we have a mesh flooring. This is nice because our cargo is going to sit on that and it keeps some of the smaller gear from falling down between the mesh. more

Let's go ahead and take a closer look at some of the features and see how it interacts with our Subaru.Now, with this cargo carrier, basically, its purpose is, it's going to be here for you to mount into your hitch receiver, so you can get any excess cargo or luggage outside of your vehicle and get it stowed on the carrier. So you can create more space on the inside for passengers, just more leg or elbow room, or even times where maybe you have a bunch of muddy gear that you want to be able to take home, but you don't want to get out on the floorboard of your Subaru, you can get it onto your cargo carrier, strap it down, and then, when you get home, you could just spray off the cargo carrier rather than having to clean off your carpet floor mats in your Subaru.We are going to have a 500 pound weight capacity on our cargo carrier right here. So, go ahead and take some measurements for storage space .. On the width, inside rail to inside rail, it's going to be about 60 inches. more

So this one's been designed for your mobility chairs, different wheeled items, because it does have that ramp. It allows you to pull things up and on rather than having to get a couple people and try to lift it up and on. Essentially what we've got is about 30 and a half inches of usable space inside here, can have about 50 inches of usable space there and a 500 pound weight capacity. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester, we're gonna be taking a look at the Reese 24x60 cargo carrier, part number 63153. Now these are gonna be great to get that cargo and gear out of your car and make more room for passengers and pets. But it is gonna add a little bit of distance to the back, so I'd like to give you a few measurements. From the back of our bumper, it's gonna add roughly right about 36 and a half inches at the very back of our carrier. At the closest point, it's gonna be right about 11 inches to the back of our bumper, right here at the front. Now, ground clearance is gonna be an issue as well, the cargo carrier is gonna come in right about 16 and a half inches at the lowest point, at the back here.Now, the design of our carrier's gonna have an open wall design. more

Has this open points here, which makes it very easy to clean. It also has several tie down points to tie down your gear as well. Let me give you a couple of quick measurements here. Malone Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're gonna be test fitting the Malone HitchKing Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, part number MPG906.This measures 19" wide, by 60" long, by 2" tall. It has this mesh floor on the bottom here, which makes it easy to clean and will not hold water. All along the border we have these points where you can connect the hooks of your bungee cords or your ratchet straps, and it has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds.With it in this position I'd like to give you a couple quick measurements. Measuring from the edge of the bumper to our outermost point, we've added about 27 1/2" to this edge here. Our ground clearance is gonna be about 11 1/4". And our closes point to the bumper is gonna be about 8" to this edge here.For close quarters situations such, as parking or putting it in your garage, you can fold this up. more

Viking Solutions Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video
Today on our 2014 XV Crosstrek we're doing a test fit of the Viking Solutions Stack Rack Cargo Carrier. That part number is 310-VSR001. Now the basket on the bottom is going to measure 32" wide by 17" deep, and this whole thing has a 300 pound weight capacity. You can see this is going to be a different kind of carrier with two different levels, to help you carry anything from camping gear, hunting gear, coolers, or fishing gear. Today on our 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18152. Now we already have this carrier in place, it does have a 500-pound weight capacity and works with two end hitches. First thing we're going to do is take a few measurements. Starting off with our ground clearance, we're going to have about 15 inches. Overall to our vehicle we've got about 30 and a half inches, and our closest point is going to be about five and a quarter inches away. On our Subaru, we do have a single driver side exhaust. more

Now this is designed to work with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and has a 300 lb. weight capacity. The first thing I'm going to with the install on our vehicle is take a few measurements. Today in our 2014 Subaru XV CrossTrek we're going to be test-fitting the twenty-four by sixty Curt-Cargo carrier for two-inch hitches. Our number C18152. This has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds and this will assist you in keeping things such as sporting goods equipment, coolers, camping equipment, anything you want to keep out of the inside to have little bit more space for you or your family. It has this nice mesh floor in the bottom here and that's going to make it really easy to clean with the hose and some soap and water. We also have this railing all the way around the cargo carrier which you can use as a tie-up point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee chords. With it in this position we have full access to the rear hatch of our vehicle to get whatever we need. It also has this nice raised shank so even with hitches with low-clearance such as this one, clearance is not going to be an issue between the cargo carrier and the ground. I'm going to go ahead and give you a couple measurements now. more

Today on our 2016 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at the Car Pod 23 by 47 walled cargo carrier for two inch hitches, part number M2205. To mount this cargo carrier, as you can see it's got these walls that are nice and high all the way around the cargo carrier and that's going to help make sure containing your cargo is made easy and you don't have to worry about the straps that go all the way down and go all the way up over. That way you can strap over the top and make sure that everything is secured nicely inside. Now, with this here, let's take a few measurements. First let's get our ground clearance at the back of the cargo carrier. That's right about nineteen inches. Then our overall distance added to the length of the vehicle, it's going be about thirty-three and a half inches. Then closest point is going to be here at the top of the shank, that's right about five inches. With this cargo carrier, you've got these walls but you're also able to fold this cargo carrier up against the rear of the vehicle and in order to do that, you'll need to lower these walls. more

Today on our 2016 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at the Stromberg-Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier for 2" hitches, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has this nice edge that goes all the way around the inside with some pre-drilled holes in order to tie your cargo down. It features this mesh flooring to help make sure that any dirt and debris falls through, so that way it doesn't collect and get onto the bottom of your cargo. Then it's got these support braces that go across to help give it a 500 pound capacity. Now let's take a few measurements. First one we'll get is ground clearance here at the rear.
